Husband receives £250,000 in compensation following loss of wife

In 2003 a man's wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. She received chemotherapy treatment at the hospital. However, no antibiotic treatment was provided. As a result she died from neutropenic sepsis.

The husband alleged that, but for the negligent treatment provided by the hospital, his wife would have survived with the chemotherapy treatment.

His claim was successful and he was awarded £250,000 by the Court.
