Infant boy cuts hand on bath

15 September, 2009

A 22 month old boy who suffered a laceration to the base of his little finger on his left hand which was caused by a sharp edge on a metal strip in a bath was awarded £1,125 in compensation.

For the first few days following the accident he experienced sleep disturbance and wasn't his usual energetic self. The wound healed within 7-10 days. He was left with a V-shaped scar at the base of his little finger, yet opinion was that this would eventually fade over time.

The claim was made against the constructors of the bath.
