£30,000 awarded to Rawtenstall man after clinical negligence

A 62 year old hairdresser from Rawtenstall was awarded £30,000 following a claim for clinical negligence.

He had undergone a total right knee replacement at Trafford General Hospital, and following the operation he was referred for physiotherapy treatment. However, he had to stop the physiotherapy treatment due to the immense pain that he was suffering. Following a CT scan he was told that his knee had been fitted incorrectly, and that it was out by 9 degrees. Therefore he underwent a second operation to rectify this.

He approached John Bennett in relation to pursuing a claim for the first operation. After further investigation it was found that the CT scan had been incorrectly reviewed, the first knee replacement had not been fitted incorrectly, and he had not required the second operation. With Mr Bennett’s expertise the claim was successfully settled and his client was awarded £30,000 in compensation.
