Fork Lift Truck Driver Awarded £2,181.47 Compensation Following Accident At Work

A 39 year old fork lift truck driver from Accrington was awarded £2,181.47 in compensation following an accident at work.

He had been manoeuvring a fork lift truck which was carrying a load down a ramp.  Without warning he found himself unable to brake or steer and in order to avoid losing the load he travelled backwards down the ramp.  When he reached the bottom he was forced into a metal barrier, crushing his right leg and groin. He suffered severe bruising to the groin area which was incredibly tender to touch and it caused him to limp and require time off work.

He instructed accident at work specialist Leonie Millard to assist with a personal injury claim.  After obtaining evidence from a medical expert, who estimated that it would take 8-10 months for the injury to fully resolve, Leonie was able to obtain £2,181.47 in compensation for her client.  This represented £2,000 for the injury, plus £20 travelling expenses and £161.47 in lost earnings.  Leonie’s costs were paid on top which meant the client was able to keep the full amount of compensation awarded.
